Artist Statement

I’ve always attempted to reflect the most beautiful traits of a human being in my paintings. I seek a deep glance, a pacific, yet intense communication with the spectator, the emphatic equilibrium of the compositions of great classic painters and harmony of shapes.

The technique I use on most of my work is oil on canvas. Lately, I’ve specialized in portraits, developing a delicate technique consisting on fine layers and light, ethereal lines, which I use to try to capture the essence of each one of my models.

I am deeply influenced and inspired by the work of José María Carrasco Jimeno as well as other classic and contemporary painters, such as Isabel Guerra. I also find a lot of inspiration in many spots of Granada, the city where I was born and feel greatly in love with.
